Application Instructions
Clear Coating-decals do NOT need clear before installation. I have used the following: Duplicolor Automotive Perfect Match Laquer, 2K Spray can clear, Testors extreme laquer, Future floor shine.
Make sure the surface is clean and free of any dust. Ensure the surface has a high gloss finish. The smoother the finish the more opaque the decals will be.
Cut out the decal, try to cut as close to the graphic as possible.(do not cut in squares, should be cut with round corners)
BLUE BACKING PAPER-Soak cut decals in room temperature distilled water with a few drops of microset (optinal)for 20 - 30 seconds till decal slides freely on paper.(Time will vary-the warmer the water the quicker the decals will release )Don't remove decal from paper (paper is needed to help position decal on the model.
WHITE BACKING PAPER(neons & metallics) Using warm water soak till decal slides freely on paper.(Time will vary 15 seconds or more or just dip decal in water and turn upside down on paper towel til water absorbs thru backing )Don't remove decal from paper. The paper is needed to help position decal on the model) DO NOT USE CHEMICALS it can damage the decal.
Apply water and/or Microset (optional)to the surface of model. Using water with a few drops of Microset is ideal.
Remove decals from water and place on model surface, gently slide carrier out from under the decal. Once decal is in place remove excess water with q-tip, paper towel or soft paint brush.
Disclaimer: Decals are fragile, take time and care when handling to prevent tearing and damaging the decal. We are not responsible for damage during your installation.
